Overview

Separated from fertile Lahaul by the soaring 4551m Kunzum Pass, the trans-Himalayan region of Spiti is another chunk of Tibet marooned within India, a kind of ‘mini-Ladakh’ with fewer tourists. The scattered villages in this serrated moonscape arrive like mirages while the turquoise-grey ribbon of the Spiti River is your near-constant companion, albeit sometimes way below in precipitous gorges.

  • Kunzum Pass- 4551 meters
  • Rohtang Pass- 3980 meters
  • Lean on to the edge of Asia’s highest suspended bridge – Chicham Bridge, to capture the sight of a truck that appears ant like
  • Visit the 1000 years old high altitude Key Gompa that stands aloof the rugged land of Spiti
  • Capture a time lapse of the changing colors of the Himalayas as painted by the sun rays
  • Best Season: May – June /  September & October
