Himachal has a lot of explore away from the regular touristic circuit of Shimla / Manali & Dharamshala. Our series of Offbeat tours take’s you to less explored places in the hinterland away from the regular touristic hustle bustle of the big tourist centers. This tour has been designed for families travelling with kids / women travelers – travelling in groups / solo and lets you explore the road less travelled in safety and comfort.

Itinerary


Day 1 | Chandigarh – Mclaud Ganj (247 km / 6 Hrs )
Arrival at Chandigarh Airport and drive off to the beautiful town of Mclaud Ganj. The small town is also known as little Tibet due to its large Tibetan population and is the home of the Dalai Lama. Spend the evening exploring the small town and its colorful market.

Day 2 | Mclaud Ganj — Bir (72 km / 2.5 Hrs )
Morning enjoy a stroll on the narrow mountain roads of Mclaud Ganj surrounded by Deodar Trees and beautiful views of Kangra Valley down below. Post breakfast drive off to the beautiful village of Bir, En-route we will visit the Tea estates at Palampur which is another famous British era town of Himachal and renowned for its unique variety of Kangra Tea. Continue with the journey and we will also visit the historic Shiv Temple at Baijnath which was build in 8th century BC and is more than 1300 years Old.
Arrive in Bir the Paragliding capital of Indian. The Twin villages of Bir—Billing host the annual International level paragliding championship. Evening explore the surroundings.

Day 3 | In Bir—Billing
Today enjoy paragliding in Bir—Billing and if time permits you can also go for a small trek in the mountains.
( Note – Paragliding being operational is subjected to govt clearance and is also dependent on weather being favorable for the activity.)

Day 4 | Bir to Prashar Lake ( 100 Kms / 4 Hrs )
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy the fresh air at Bir, take a walk in the pristine surroundings and teat your senses to a dose of nature therapy. Later in the day drive off towards Prashar Lake on the mountain roads.
The drive takes us from Kangra valley to the mountains of Mandi and we gradually gain altitude till we reach Prashar Lake. The lake is on a hill top and has beautiful views of the surrounding hills. According to local legend the great Maharishi Prashar meditated on the banks of the lake and the cur-rent temple is dedicated to him. Our vehicles stop near the lake and you have to trek for 2 Kms to reach the lake. Spend some time near the lake and then we head off to our hotel for the night.

Day 5 | Prashar Lake to Kasol ( 91 Kms / 4 Hrs )
Post breakfast drive to Kasol through the swinging mountain roads. This is a beautiful drive and we will have lots of chances for photo stops en-route. In Kullu valley we can also take part in rafting on Beas river. If time permits then we go for trekking towards Bijli Mahadev temple. Continue with drive into Parvati Valley till we reach Kasaol the party capital of Himachal.

Day 6 | Kasol to Keylong ( 145 Kms / 5 Hrs )
After breakfast we drive on to the inner Himalayas and cross the town’s of Kullu and Manali on our way to Atal Tunnel to reach Lahaul Valley. Lahaul valley is complete different from Manali which has lush green forest and once you cross the 9.2 Kms long Atal Tunnel into Lahaul there is no vegetation on the Hills.

Day 7 | In Keylong
Explore Lahaul Valley, visit water fall at Sissu, Lake, Sangam of river Chandra & Bhaga at Tandi bridge and Triloknath temple in Udaipur.

Day 8 | Keylong to Manali ( 70 Kms / 2.5 Hrs )
After breakfast we start the drive down from Keylong and cross Tandi, Sissu Atal Tunnel to reach Solang and then Manali. Day free to explore the local market.

Day 9 | Manali to Tirthan ( 105 Kms / 4 Hrs )
After breakfast we drive to Tirthan, Located on banks of the Tirthan river the small village of Tirthan is an beautiful riverside offbeat destination surrounded by lush green Deodar forest and hidden waterfalls it is an nature lovers paradise. If you are interested we can go for a small hike to a waterfall in the mountains.

Day 10 Tirthan to Narkanda ( 123 Kms / 4.5 Hrs )
After breakfast we drive up to Jalori Pass ( 3188 Meters ) which is one of the highest point in our drive. The pass is an natural divider between district Kullu & Shimla, There is a lake and a small fort in the surrounding areas of the Pass. Continuing with the drive we drive down the mountain road till we reach the river Satluj and then drive up from Kingal to Narkanda. Narkanda is a small town in the apple heartland of Himachal, the area is surrounded by some of the best apple growing regions of Himachal. Time permitting we can also drive up to Hatu peak ( 3400 meters ) for a splendid view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 11 | Narkanda to Chandigarh ( 181 Kms / 5 Hrs )
After breakfast drive down the mountains to reach Chandigarh airport.

Can you book a hotel for me?
Yes, sure we can book hotel stay for you for your pre and post tour days.
What is your cancellation policy?
In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/ unavoidable reasons we must be informed in written. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive mail in written and cancellation charges would be as follows:
• Once the booking is confirmed – 25% of the tour/service cost.
• 15 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
• 07 days prior to arrival – 75% of the tour/service cost.
• Less than 72 hours or no show – NO REFUNDS
Can you send us the final itinerary before we book the tour?
Yes we always send the tour program before you book.
Note - as we travel in the Himalayas at time if necessary we have to make changes in the itinerary due to snow fall / road closure or any other natural calamity that is beyond our control.
Can I use ATM and credit cards during the trip?
ATM is available at all small towns in Himachal, and POS machines are also available at all major shops. For online payments majority of people now use QR code based apps ( BHIM , G PAY , PAYTM etc ) credit cards are accepted at all hotels. In some areas internet connectivity may be poor so do keep sufficient cash in hand for emergency use.
What is the likely temperature and weather during the trip?
The weather in mountains cannot be predicted, generally in summers the temperature is in range of 15 to 30 degrees.
