Overview

Numbers of passes have opened the Spiti valley to the areas outside. The natural border of this valley with the neighboring areas is formed by watersheds. The valley is landlocked from all the sides. On these watersheds some passes have linked the Spiti valley from time immemorial with the surrounding areas of Ladakh, Kinnaur, Lahaul and Tibet. Itinerary


Day 1 | Chandigarh – Theog (148 km / 4.5 Hrs )
We will get together at the pre-decided place in Chandigarh and start the drive towards Theog,  which is about 22 KMs from Shimla.
Overnight at Theog.

Day 2 | Theog to Sangla( 186 Kms / 7 Hrs )
Breakfast in the hotel. Depart by surface to Sangla  (8/9 Hrs drive) via Rampur. Sangla valley in Kinnaur district with its lush green valleys, fruit laden orchards, snow-clad peaks and widespread fields is undoubtedly a magical place and a complete package in itself. Sangla Valley is also named Baspa Valley because of the Baspa River flowing through the valley. Kinnaur however still maintains the age-old culture and social habits.
Overnight at  Sangla.

Day 3 |Sangla to Kalpa ( 60 km )
After Breakfast checkout from our hotel after breakfast and drive to Chitkul, the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibetan border, positionedon the right bank of Baspa River. The place offers different landscapes that keep one intrigued in exploring all that there is to be seen. Pastures, Highlands, Views of Glaciers, Steppes, Woods, River, Orchids and beautiful wooden houses this place just possess everything to make one’s trip a remarkable experience. Later continue drive to Kalpa, a beautiful village from where one can on look the changing colors of Mt. Kinner Kailash. Arrival and check-in to hotel.

Evening free to relax with a grand view of Kailash mountain.

Day 4 | Kalpa to Tabo (160km)
After breakfast drive to Tabo(3200 m),  (6/7 hrs drive) via Ribba, Moron and Tila monasteries. Tabo monastery is an ordinary mud structure but on the inside it has frescoes which earned Tabo the epithet of “Ajanta of Himalayas”.
Overnight at Tabo.

Day 5 | Tabo–  Pin – Kungri – Dankar – Kaza (100km)
After the breakfast drive to Kaza (3450 m), via Pin, Kungri and Dankar monasteries famous for a very old Monastery, where the Dalai Lama had lived in the past. visit every place and enjoy the relaxing drive .
Overnight at Kaza.

Day 6  : Kaza – Ki – Kibber Comic (Highest Village) – Chandertal  (160km)
After breakfast drive to Ki monastery (4116 m), . The monastery with rare paintings and scriptures is the oldest and biggest in Spiti. Go further to Kibber (4140m), one of the highest villages in the world.drive to Kunzum pass (4551 m) and Chandratal (4270 m). This blue water lake is situated about nine kms from Kunzum pass. The lake is placed between a low ridge and the main Kunzum range with an outlet into the Chandra River. The lake lies in a broad grassy plain, cranes and ducks abound in the lake.
Overnight in tents at Chatru or Chandertal.

Day 7 | Chutru / Chandratal to Manali ( 100km )
Today is the last Day of the tour. Drive to Manaligift of the Himalayas to the world, Manali (2050m) is a beautiful town nestled at the northern end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is a popular tourist spot for Indians in summer and a magical, snow-covered place in winter.At Evening Farewell Dinner.Sharing emotions after a journey. Hot Spring in Vashisht for relaxation. Day 8 | Manali to Chandigarh / 280km
Drive to Chandigarh. End of the trip.

Breakfast – Our daily breakfast will be at the hotels where we stay.

Lunch – Daily lunch will be at small midway joints or it will be an picnic Lunch at some places where our team will cook food for you and serve it hot.

Dinner – Our daily dinner will be at the hotels / Camps / Guesthouse where we stay. Dinner in Manali is not included in the package as there are lots of good local restaurants in both cities where you can go out and enjoy a meal.

Food is a very essential part of these trips. We make sure that the meals we offer is method delicious, unless you ask for dull meals. You are also permitted the choice of veggie or non-vegetarian meals. We suggest that you consume only the bottled standard water that we will carry for you.

Why are your tours so expensive?
Travelling in the Himalayas requires as lot of preparation and a lot of specialty equipment, this along with the cost of the highly experienced travelling crew and their vehicles increases the cost of the Expedition in the Himalayas.
Can you book a hotel for me?
Yes, sure we can book hotel stay for you for your pre and post tour days.
What is your cancellation policy?
In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/ unavoidable reasons we must be informed in written. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive mail in written and cancellation charges would be as follows:
• Once the booking is confirmed – 25% of the tour/service cost.
• 15 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
• 07 days prior to arrival – 75% of the tour/service cost.
• Less than 72 hours or no show – NO REFUNDS
Can you send us the final itinerary before we book the tour?
Yes we always send the tour program before you book.
Note - as we travel in the Himalayas at time if necessary we have to make changes in the itinerary due to snow fall / road closure or any other natural calamity that is beyond our control.
How do we communicate with other team mates when where is no mobile signal en-route
We provide walki-talki sets for communication to all travelling vehicles, so there we can have uninterrupted communication.
Is basis first aid available with the team
The accompanying team carries with it basis first aid, Oxygen for emergency use
