DAY 01 | ARRIVE PARO
Our staff will greet you upon arrival at Paro Airport (7,000ft), transfer to Thimphu, through the beautiful valleys of Paro to the capital of Bhutan.
On the way we will see Tagchogang Lhakhang (guide has the details of it) and Confluence of 2 river Thimphu and Paro. Enjoy the beauty of Valley till you reach the Thimphu City. Check in the Hotel.
Afternoon drive to Kuenselphodrang where the large statue of Buddha is being built up. From here you can see the view of entire Thimphu valley. Later drive down to memorial Chorten built in the memory of Lt. His Majesty the King by Royal Queen Mother and evening scroll down town. O/N Hotel
DAY 02 | THIMPHU – SIGHTSEEING
Morning visit Changangkha Lhakhang, Motithang mini Zoo to see the National animal The Takin. Drive down to viewpoint from where you have magnificent view of Thimphu valley; visit National Library to see the large collection of traditional books, Folk Heritage museum where you can see the typical Bhutanese house and their way lifestyle and School of arts & craft (Painting School).
Evening visit Bhutan Post office to see the large collection Bhutanese stamps. Later drive around Parliament House the Tashichodzong. (If your visit fall in the weekend you may visit weekend market. O/N Same
Day 03 | THIMPHU – PUNAKHA/WANGDI
Morning transfer to Punakha through Dochula Pass from where one can see beautiful view of Eastern Himalayan Range on the clear sunny day. Visit Punakha town and visit the Punakha Dzong, which is the summer residence of Central Monastic body. Later visit Wangdi town. O/N Wangdi
DAY 04 | PUNAKHA/WANGDI – PHOBJIKHA
Moring visit Chimi Lhakhang Temple and then transfer to Phobjikha/Gangtey valley explores the valley. Visit Gangtey Gompa on the way. O/N Same
DAY 05 | PHOBJIKHA – THIMPHU
Complete the sightseeing in Phobjikha and later transfer to Thimphu. O/N Thimphu
DAY 06 | THIMPHU – PARO
Morning complete the sightseeing and transfer to Paro, straight way drive to Chelela Pass to see the Himalayan range. Drive back to Paro town on the way stop at the view point of Airport.
After lunch visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has a fine collection of ancient Thangka painting, textiles, weapons and artifacts.
Later visit Paro Dzong, from where you can have the bird view of the Ugyen Pelri Palace, walk down to the traditional wooden bridge. O/N Paro
DAY 07 | PARO – SIGHTSEEING.
Morning hike to viewpoint of Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest. This magical monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff 3,000 ft above the valley floor. The monastery was burnt in 1998 but has recently been reconstructed. It is one of the most holy places and all Bhutanese believe that they must visit it at least once in their lifetime.
On the way back drive to the ruins of Drugyel Dzong. This Dzong is of historical importance, from whose ramparts the Bhutanese repelled Tibetan invaders. On a clear day one can view the sacred Chhomolari (Mountain of Goddess) – 24,000 ft. And also Kyichu Lhakhang of one most religious sites of the country.
DAY 08 | Departure.
Early morning transfer to Airport.
