Winter in the Himalayas is the best time to capture the elusive Snow Leopard in the camera. Due to the harsh winters the leopards come down from the mountains to areas near villages where they can be spotted and Photographed. Covered in layers of snow the mountains have a picture perfect landscape and this is also the best time for Landscape and nature photography in the high mountains of the Himalayas. Come join us on our winter expeditions to the hidden valley of Spiti in winters when temperatures can reach as low as -3o degree for an expedition like no other.

Itinerary


Day 1 | Chandigarh to Rampur ( 230 Kms )
Morning Pick Up from Chandigarh airport / railway station and drive to the Hill town of Rampur Bushahr in Himachal.

Day 2 | Rampur to Tabo ( 246 Kms )
After breakfast drive to Chango in Spiti Valley. the route takes you through Jhakri – Bhaba Nagar – Karcham – Spillo – Khab – Nako to reach Chango / Tabo . Explore the nearby areas and get acclimatized to the high altitude weather.

Day 3 | Tabo to Kibber ( 70 Kms )
After a relaxing morning breakfast at Tabo we’ll start for Kibber via Kaza. Kaza is the Head Quarter of Spiti Valley. Here you will find ATM, Petrol Pump, Shops, Tourist information Centre etc.

After spending some time at Kaza we make the final ascent to Kibber.  On the way you shall also visit the famous Kee Monastery.

After Reaching Kibber the room will be assigned. It will be your home for the next few days. After Dinner we’ll share with you the plans for upcoming days.

Note – Stay in be in Kaza if the road is closed due to heavy snow or slippery conditions.

Day 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 -8- 9 (6 days) | Kibber
Search for the most elusive Snow Leopard as the expedition is conducted at various locations in Kibber region.

Your stay in Kibber for six nights includes all meals (  Breakfast / Lunch & Dinner ) for duration of stay.

Day 10 | Kibber to Nako ( 130 Kms )
After early breakfast leave for the village of Nako. Overnight stay at Nako.

Day 11| Nako to Chandigarh 
After breakfast drive down the highway to Chandigarh. Drop at Airport / railway staion.

 

Notes 

There is no running water in winters. Hot water will be provided for freshening up every day. Because of the lack of water we would provide you with a dry toilet. Wet wipes and toilet paper is provided.

Bathroom is separate and hot water will be provided in case someone wants to take a bath

Food and Meal


During this tour, you will be served daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner at either the hotel or while on the road. Every day you get the best food with local Indian taste and flavor for all hotels and resorts and camps Buffy best healthy breakfast with Indian and western touch.

Breakfast – Our daily breakfast will be at the hotels / Guesthouse where we stay.

Lunch – IN Kibber you daily lunch will be at the Homestay / Guesthouse where you will be staying. During days of long travel Lunch will be at small midway joints.

Dinner – Our daily dinner will be at the hotels / Homestay /  Guesthouse where we stay.

The Tour starts & ends in Chandigarh, you vehicle will pick you up from the airport, railway station or your hotel in the City.

For those coming from far away cities, we can make additional arrangements for accommodation / flight for you. ( charges applicable )

Why are your tours so expensive?
Travelling in the Himalayas requires as lot of preparation and a lot of specialty equipment, this along with the cost of the highly experienced travelling crew and their vehicles increases the cost of the Expedition in the Himalayas.
Can you book a hotel for me?
Yes, sure we can book hotel stay for you for your pre and post tour days.
What is your cancellation policy?
In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/ unavoidable reasons we must be informed in written. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive mail in written and cancellation charges would be as follows:
• Once the booking is confirmed – 25% of the tour/service cost.
• 15 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
• 07 days prior to arrival – 75% of the tour/service cost.
• Less than 72 hours or no show – NO REFUNDS
Can you send us the final itinerary before we book the tour?
Yes we always send the tour program before you book.
Note - as we travel in the Himalayas at time if necessary we have to make changes in the itinerary due to snow fall / road closure or any other natural calamity that is beyond our control.
How do we communicate with other team mates when where is no mobile signal en-route
We provide walki-talki sets for communication to all travelling vehicles, so there we can have uninterrupted communication.
Is basis first aid available with the team
The accompanying team carries with it basis first aid, Oxygen for emergency use
