Overview
The road to Pir Panjal & Zanskar travels through some of the most difficult terrains in the Himalayas. Be it the climb to Sach pass, crossing the narrow road to killar or travelling through Zanskar where new roads are being made, this is a drive full of adventure passing through some of the remotest places in India.
Its a route meant for 4×4 vehicles or the hardy highlanders who roam around in their Altos with spare people in car to push it when the going gets tough.

Itinerary
Day 1 | Chandigarh to Khajjiar ( 351 Kms / 8 Hrs )
Assemble at predestinated place in Chandigarh and we start our drive towards the small mountain town of Khajjiar in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Evening free on arrival.
Overnight at Khajjiar.
Day 2 | Khajjiar to Sanch Pass and then to Killar ( 178 Kms )
After morning meal our drive starts for climbing Saach pass, today we fill up the tanks for the next two days are there are no petrol Pumps till Tandi, in between we cross deep forest ,hard rock mountain or on top of saach pass grand view of valley . After saach pass we stop at check post where Police make video for visitors and vehicle as entry, then we drive down to the small village of Killar.

Day 3 | Killar to Tandi ( 121 Kms )
The drive today takes through a remote route that is rarely used and drives along the river Chandra-Bhaga crossing small villages. The road is very narrow at points and there is no place for a upcoming vehicle to pass at some points , or most places you drive on edge of 1000m deep river side road. En-route we will visit the Trilokinath temple in Udaipur from where the road widens. on to Tandi.

Day 4 | Tandi to Purne ( 119 Kms )
Post breakfast we check out and drive to Purne, en-route we cross Keylong , Jispa, Darcha, Deepak Tal from where we go up towards Shinkula Pass ( Meters ) and then cross Gombo Rangjon Mountain on our way to Purne.

Day 5 | Purne to Padum ( 55Kms )
After breakfast we proceed for a half day trek to Phutkal Monastery (It is one of the only Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh that can still be reached only by foot ) Later we drive to Padum.

Day 6 | In Padum
Complete day for rest and checkup of jeeps, explore local places of interest.

Day 7 | Padum to Lamayuru ( 210Kms / 8Hrs)
After early breakfast we start our drive towards Lamayuru. En-route we cross Zangla, Singe La, Fotoksar Hanupata to reach Lamayuru.

Day 8 | Lamayuru to DAh Hanu ( 74 Kms / 2 Hrs )
After breakfast we visit the Monastery in Lamayuru which is one of the largest in Ladakh, later drive to Dah Hanu( Aryan Village ), legend has it that the villagers are decedents of Alexander clansmen who came to conquer India in 327 BC and stayed back to rule. Spend time with locals

Day 9 | Dah to Parachik (153 kms / 5Hrs)
After breakfast we start our drive towards Parachik, en-route we cross Batalis , Kargil and suru valley to reach Parakchik.

Day 10 | Parachik to Padum ( 144kms / 7Hrs)
After breakfast we start our drive towards Padum, en-route we cross Rangdum, Pensi La, Stat Tso, Lang Tso to reach Padum
Overnight at Padum.
Day 11 | Padum to Jispa (145 Kms / 6Hrs) .
Post breakfast we check out of the guest house and proceed towards Jispa, en route we again cross Gumbok Rangan mountain & Shinku la Pass.

Day 12 | Jispa to Manali ( 92 Kms / 2 Hrs )
Leisurely drive to Manali, we cross Atal tunnel ( 9 Kms ) to reach Manali. day free for leisure to relax and to spend some time in the local market.
Overnight in Manali.
Day 13 | Manali to Chandigarh ( 308 Kms / 9 Hrs )
Drive to Chandigarh and end of tour.

If you don’t like the weather in the Himalayas just wait for a few hours and it will change. The Himalayas are so high that they make their own weather, it can be bright and sunny and in a few hours it may get cloudy and cold.
It is very difficult predict the weather so you have to be prepared for it, in day time it can be bright and sunny and as the sun goes down the temperatures plummets in the higher mountains.
So you have to be prepared for days with bright sun shining, sudden guest of strong cold winds and very cold night.

Breakfast – Our daily breakfast will be at the hotels where we stay.
Lunch – Daily lunch will be at small midway joints or it will be an picnic Lunch at some places where our team will cook food for you and serve it hot.
Dinner – Our daily dinner will be at the hotels / Camps / Guesthouse where we stay. Dinner in Manali is not included in the package as there are lots of good local restaurants in both cities where you can go out and enjoy a meal.
Food is a very essential part of these trips. We make sure that the meals we offer is method delicious, unless you ask for dull meals. You are also permitted the choice of veggie or non-vegetarian meals. We suggest that you consume only the bottled standard water that we will carry for you.
