Day 1 | Chandigarh to Narkanda (Tanidar), 200 kilometers / 124 miles
Start the journey at leisure from Chandigarh and we reach Narkanda after a easy drive.
Day 2 | Narkanda to Sangla, 163 kilometers / 101 miles
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by surface to Sangla (8 to 9-hour drive) via Rampur. Sarahan is a beautifully located township amid mountains with Shrikhand Mahadev peak (5,155 meters) looming as a backdrop. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 3 | Sangla to Kalpa, 60 kilometers / 37 miles
After breakfast, visit Chitkul, explore Sangla, ride back to Kalpa town, apply for ILP (inner line permit) with photos, and relax with a grand view of Mount Kailash along with an evening beer.
Day 4 | Kalpa to Tabo, 160 kilometers / 99 miles
After breakfast, ride to Tabo (3,200 meters), (6 to 7-hour drive) via Ribba, Moron, and Tila monasteries. Tabo Monastery is an ordinary mud structure, but on the inside, it has frescoes which earned Tabo the epithet of “Ajanta of Himalayas”. Overnight at Tabo.
Day 5 | Tabo – Pin – Kungri – Dhankar – Kaza, 100 kilometers / 62 miles
After breakfast, ride to Kaza (3,450 meters), via Pin, Kungri, and Dhankar monasteries, and enjoy the relaxing ride. Overnight in a small town of Kaza.
Day 6 | Kaza – Ki – Kibber – Komic (highest village) – Loshar, 100 kilometers / 62 miles
After breakfast, ride to Ki Monastery (4,116 meters). The monastery has rare paintings and scriptures, which is the oldest and biggest in Spiti. Go further to Kibber (4,140 meters), one of the highest villages in the world. Go to Loshar and stay in a small village in a homestay for an overnight stay.
Day 7 | Loshar to Chandra Taal, via Kunzum Pass, 100 kilometers / 62 miles
After breakfast, ride to Kunzum Pass (4,551 meters) and Chandra Taal (4,270 meters). This blue water lake is situated about nine kilometers from Kunzum Pass. The lake is placed between a low ridge and the main Kunzum Range with an outlet into the Chandra River. The lake lies in a broad grassy plain with cranes and ducks abound in the lake. Overnight in tents at Chatru or Chandra Taal.
Note: If Kunzam pass is closed due to snow, you will ride back on the same route until Chandigarh with a new stops on the way. Planet Way Round will assess the situation and change the tour itinerary if needed.
Day 8 | Chatru or Chandra Taal to Manali, 100 kilometers / 62 miles
Today is the last day of the tour. In the evening you will have a farewell dinner, sharing emotions after the journey. Go for a hot spring in Vashisht for relaxation. In Manali, shop some gifts for friends. You will get presents from Planet Way Round for memory.
Day 9 | Manali – ride to Chandigarh
You will ride through Himalayan highway (280 kilometers / 174 miles). Cross a small town and jungle route until you reach Chandigarh. Stop over for Indian lunch and complimentary stay deluxe at Chandigarh City. On the next day, you will be transferred to Chandigarh airport..
