Spiti Motorcycle Tour

Itinerary

Day 1 | Reach Chandigarh / Altitude – 364 Kms 
Assistance on arrival at Chandigarh airport / railway station and transfer to your hotel for overnight stay. Get the meet the accompanying team in the evening along with the biker for the tour.  Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2 | Chandigarh to Narkanda, 156 Kms / Altitude – 2700 Meters 
Start the journey at leisure from Chandigarh and we reach Narkanda after an easy drive. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3 | Narkanda to Sangla, 163 Kms / Altitude 2650 Meters 
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by surface to Sangla (8 to 9-hour drive) via Rampur. Sarahan is a beautifully located township amid mountains with Shrikhand Mahadev peak (5,155 meters) looming as a backdrop. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 4 | Sangla to Kalpa, 60 Kms / Altitude – 2960 Meters
After breakfast, visit Chitkul, explore Sangla, ride back to Kalpa town, apply for ILP (inner line permit) with photos, and relax with a grand view of Mount Kailash along with an evening beer.

Day 5 | Kalpa to Tabo, 160 Kms / Altitude – 3200 Meters 
After breakfast, ride to Tabo (3,200 meters), (6 to 7-hour drive) via Ribba, Moron, and Tila monasteries. Tabo Monastery is an ordinary mud structure, but on the inside, it has frescoes which earned Tabo the epithet of “Ajanta of Himalayas”. Overnight at Tabo.

Day 6 | Tabo – Pin – Kungri – Dhankar – Kaza, 100 Kms / Altitude – 3650 Meters
After breakfast, ride to Kaza (3,650 meters), via Pin, Kungri, and Dhankar monasteries, and enjoy the relaxing ride. Overnight in a small town of Kaza.

Day 7 | Kaza – Ki – Kibber – Komic (highest village) – Loshar, 100 Kms / Altitude 4090 Meters 
After breakfast, ride to Ki Monastery (4,116 meters). The monastery has rare paintings and scriptures, which is the oldest and biggest in Spiti. Go further to Kibber (4,140 meters), one of the highest villages in the world. Go to Loshar and stay in a small village in a homestay for an overnight stay.

Day 8 | Loshar to Chandra Taal, via Kunzum Pass, 100 Kms / Altitude – 4270 Meters 
After breakfast, ride to Kunzum Pass (4,551 meters) and Chandra Taal (4,270 meters). This blue water lake is situated about nine kilometers from Kunzum Pass. The lake is placed between a low ridge and the main Kunzum Range with an outlet into the Chandra River. The lake lies in a broad grassy plain with cranes and ducks abound in the lake. Overnight in tents at Chatru or Chandra Taal.

Note: If Kunzam pass is closed due to snow, you will ride back on the same route until Chandigarh with a new stops on the way. Planet Way Round will assess the situation and change the tour itinerary if needed.

Day 9 | Chandra Taal to Manali, 100 Kms / Altitude – 1800 Meters 
Today is the last day of the tour. In the evening you will have a farewell dinner, sharing emotions after the journey. Go for a hot spring in Vashisht for relaxation. In Manali, shop some gifts for friends. You will get presents from Planet Way Round for memory.

Day 10 | Manali Departure 
On time transfer to the airport at Kullu ( Bhuntar ) to board flight for onward journey.  Your departure transfer will be provided by us.

For our tours we use Royal Enfield Himalayan or Classic 550 bikes only.  All bikes are checked and serviced before the start of the tour to make sure that only good bikes are used for the tour.

-Notes
Minor repairs like brake shoe, spark plug, clutch plate, tubes, cable (1 set only), and engine oil are included in the cost. However, if more breakages happen due to rough handling, accidents, theft, etc., the clients will have to bear the cost.

Food and Meal

The Trip includes all meals and beverages, like water and tea, during this tour, are included. You will be served daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner at either the hotel or while on the road. Every day, you’ll get the best food with local Indian taste and flavor for all hotels and resorts, and camps.

At places the lunch is served on the way at running Ladakhi and local food joints with local Ladakhi and Tibetan taste. Dinners will be at the hotel and resort or camp where you stay. In some places, Plane Way Round can plan to visit the best city restaurant to taste local food.

Getting there

Skill level required: Advanced
*can ride for 5-6 hours
