Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar -Welcome to Mongolia
We rarely ride out on the first day, as we like to give our riders time to settle in and ensure that everyone is briefed properly and has time to relax after potentially long flights. So, upon arrival at the airport, our team will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to your accommodation. Whether you’re arriving early or bang on time, you will be taken directly to the arrival hotel, where you can meet your fellow riders.
Once at your hotel, you will have time to relax, settle in, and take a moment to seep into the new country ahead of your big adventure. We’ll kick off the afternoon with a briefing session with your tour leader, who will share important information about the tour itinerary and safety guidelines. And afterwards, he’ll hand over your motorcycle.
And before the ride starts tomorrow, we’ll have a welcome dinner together in the evening.

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar – Baga Gazriin Chuluu Rock formations 240km
We’ll head into the countryside this morning, cruising on paved roads, giving you enough time to familiarise yourself with the region and your motorcycle before hitting the Mongolian plains. In the afternoon, we will ride endless dirt tracks, all headed in the same direction, allowing you to ‘ride your own road’ – as the Mongolians often say. It’s easy to be overwhelmingly thrilled by the incredible freedom you experience when hitting this stretch.
Our accommodation for the night is a beautiful Ger Camp situated in a rocky green valley. It’s a serene end to the day and the perfect start to roughing it out in what feels like the middle of nowhere.
– Accommodation: Ger Camp
– Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3: Baga Gazriin Chuluu – White Stupa 260km
After our first Mongolian country breakfast, we’ll hop back on the bikes and follow along in the valley next to beautiful rocky hills, where we’ll pass herds of grazing livestock along the road. Not long after we exit the valley, the countryside opens up into more of those ‘choose
your own path’ sections of riding as we head to our fuel stop in a tiny Mongolian village.
After the fuel stop, we have ~40km of potholed pavement – an excellent motivator to hit the gravel tracks again. There are a few words to describe the beauty of our destination today – the White Cliffs. Tsagaan Suvarga – In Mongolian – is a stunning natural formation, eroded over time, now standing tall, watching dramatically over the surrounding plains. Before we reach our humble camp, we’ll pass the viewpoint of the White Cliffs. And out here on the bikes with the overwhelming sense of serenity, as we brave some of the most dramatic landscapes on the bike – it’s a requirement to feel a tad overwhelmed – we won’t judge if you do.
– Accommodation: Ger Camp.
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 4: White Stupa – Yol Valley 420km
Waking up in our Ger Camp at White Cliffs is serene. The air is fresh, the landscape sprawling out endlessly, and tranquillity envelopes you. You can’t help but feel an unearthly sense of peace here and revel in the freedom to explore in any direction. The riding on this tour evolves as we make tracks over the landscape, and while we have this unbridled freedom, it also offers exhilarating challenges to look forward to.
We’ll ride past the majestic White Cliffs again before heading out and toward the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains, where Yol Valley lies. The first section of the route takes us back onto the tar road and past the biggest town in the area – Dalanzadgad. We’ll stop here for a quick coffee and enjoy the last bit of civilisation we’ll see for a few days. Yol Valley is next on the route – a mountain-rich area where the tracks take us through a dry river bed and loose rocky sections. To say the scenery is beautiful is doing it an injustice, and you might be lucky enough to spot an eagle while riding.
There is something almost surreal about the Mongolian countryside. We often ride in places still untouched by tourism, but Mongolia is mostly as it was hundreds of years ago – minus the ancient raging armies, of course.
– Accommodation: Ger Camps
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 5: Yol Valley – Singing dunes of Khongoriin Els 280km
Today’s extensive ride requires a good boost, so we’ll get the day started with a strong cup of Mongolian-brewed coffee and a hearty breakfast. We are riding back through the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains, eventually leaving the Valley’s abundance behind us as we travel further into South Gobi to tackle the dunes later today. The riding becomes challenging as we move closer to the mountains, where we’ll hit a patch with loose gravel and stones. But the spectacular scenery is well worth pushing through this one, and after reaching our camp, we’ll take a short (but much-needed) break before heading out to the impressive Gobi dunes!
If you’re up to the challenge, you can knock it out on the bike. But you don’t have to brave the dunes on your wheels – you could go sandboarding, hop on a camel and experience the desert authentically, or just spend the time taking incredible photos.
– Accommodation: Ger Camp
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 6: Sand Dunes – Ongi Monastery Ruins 310km
Challenging gravel sections in the morning ease into endless wide-open rolling hills and rocky jeep tracks later in the afternoon. This is another dreamy adventure riding day en route to central Mongolia, and we say goodbye to the dry and mysterious Gobi Desert.
As we ride into the heart of this incredible country, you’ll notice that there are very few villages here. You may spot one or two tiny clusters of human life, but these are private spaces, so we’ll find a suitable picnic spot along the route for lunch and leave the locals in peace. All you can hear out here is the sound of the wind rushing past you. It’s not overpowering, though – it’s exhilarating, almost tangible, and complements the sheer expanses that lie ahead of you. The open road takes us to our next destination, next to a small river that cuts through the dry mountains, sprouting greenery wherever it’s touched. We’re visiting the Ongi Monastery, engulfed in deep history. We’ll explore the ruins and ancient foundations – some still visible to this day.
– Accommodation: Ger Camp
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 7: Ongi Monastery ruins – Red Waterfall in the Orkhon Valley 305km
Today’s adventure takes us to the breathtaking Ulaan Tsutgalan (Red Waterfall), featuring a full day of off-road exploration. We’ll start with an early breakfast to fuel up for the considerable distance ahead. The morning offers exhilarating rides across expansive grassy hills and valleys—perfect terrain to open the throttle and experience Mongolia’s vast landscape. As we progress, you’ll witness a remarkable transformation of scenery unfolding before you.
Our journey transitions from open plains to winding trails through pine forests, with the landscape’s character shifting dramatically. The wildlife changes too—the wild horses and sheep that roam the grasslands give way to shaggy yaks peacefully grazing alongside our path.
The final leg follows the river’s course, where we’ll navigate small to medium river crossings (conditions permitting) before arriving at our magnificent waterfall destination.
– Accommodation: Remote Ger Camp
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 8: Horse riding and Mongolian traditional migration show
After a long ride through the Gobi Desert in Mongolia, we deserve a nice day of rest. Today, we will relax in the Orkhon Valley, immersing ourselves in the traditional lifestyle of Mongolia. After a relaxed breakfast, we will ride horses along the Orkhon River to the waterfall, where Mongol warriors once rode before. After lunch, we will build a ger and experience how nomads build their traditional home for migration.
– Accommodation: Remote Ger Camp
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 9: Orkhon Valley – Tsenkher Hot Springs 120km
You might not have guessed it, but after a long day of marauding and pillaging, Chinggis Khan and his crew enjoyed nothing more than a good soak in a hot spring — and that’s exactly what’s waiting for us at the end of today’s ride. With the promise of warm mineral waters at a cosy little ger resort, we set off with around 30 km of gravel ahead to get the blood flowing. The route follows the river, with a few water crossings to keep things interesting. Most of the way is on gravel tracks, with occasional stretches of dirt road mixed in.
We’ll make a quick stop to refuel before heading into the mountains, where the terrain shifts to quieter, less-travelled paths that weave through forested sections. We won’t say we’re racing to the hot springs, but let’s just say the idea of a long, relaxing dip makes for great motivation. The plan is to roll into the resort by late lunch, giving you plenty of time to unwind in the pools.
– Accommodation: Comfortable accommodation
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 10: Tsenkher Hot Springs – Kharkhorin, the Ancient Capital 150km
We retrace our steps along the riverbank today, following back along the path that brought us here yesterday. The first 30km leads back to the breathtaking expanse of the Mongolian Steppes. We’ll stop in a small town to refuel the bikes, which also gives us a chance to witness one of Mongolia’s most iconic sights: wild horses galloping freely across the open steppe — a moment that never gets old.
With tanks topped up, we turn south, aiming for the ancient capital as we ride toward Kharkhorin. The landscape slowly begins to shift — broad, open plains give way to distant mountain views. The pastoral scenery evolves too. Once in Kharkhorin, there’s time to explore the town, connect with the locals, and soak in a bit of everyday life before settling in for the night.
– Accommodation: Comfortable ger camp in town
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 11: Kharkhorin – Khustai NP 260km
As the trip is nearing to end, we are starting to head back to Ulaanbaatar again. Today, we will ride entirely on tarmac roads. En route, we will stop at the Elsen Tasarkhai (mini dunes) to have a chance to ride a camel. After the camel ride, we will slowly head to the Hustai National Park, which is famous for its endangered species of real wild horse known as Przewalski’s horse. We will arrive at today’s accommodation late afternoon. Once we are settled there, the national park vehicles will take us ap from the accommodation and do the park tour.
– Accommodation: Ger Camp
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 12: Khustai NP – Ulaanbaatar 100km
It’s not a long riding day, and the goal is to arrive in the city by late lunch. From there, we’ll hop on a bus for a short drive out to Tsonjin Boldog — about 60 km from Ulaanbaatar — to visit the towering Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue. It’s a must-see, not just for its size and
presence, but for what it represents: the unifying force of Genghis Khan and the lasting impact he had on shaping Mongolia’s identity and history.
This evening, we’ll gather for a special farewell dinner to celebrate the journey we’ve shared — a chance to reflect on the adventure, the landscapes, and the memories we’ve made across this extraordinary land.
– Accommodation: Comfortable hotel
– Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
